Individual Membership
There are many benefits in being an individual member of the IAWA. You will have the support of
a recognised sporting body with a vast number of skills, knowledge and experience. You will
have the comfort of knowing that you can call upon us with sporting questions at any time. The
IAWA is a member of the World Olympic Federation and as such, membership of the IAWA is
accepted all around the world.

- Access to Garda vetting through the IAWA for members over the age of 16
- You will receive your own membership profile which will entitle you to change your personal details on
our website.

Club Affiliation Benefits
Clubs don’t run for free. Annual subscription fees from your members should be set to cover the
cost of running the club and to allow for surplus at the end of the year for upgrading and
maintaining equipment.
When running your own club, it is important to make sure that you have suitable Insurance
Cover in the case of an accident on your premises while training, competing or for people
attending just to spectate. You can get insurance through a company which can sometimes be
expensive and difficult to get due to the nature of our sport.
Alternatively, the IAWA, as the National Governing Body, have specific Insurance on offer to
clubs that meet the criteria, which covers Public Liability and Personal Injury for wrestling clubs.
- Affiliated Clubs will be part of a National and International recognised Governing Body
- Affiliated Clubs will be able to take advantage of Public Liability Insurance cover (additional
